Enhancing our courses

Better for you, better for your career

Learn about what we’re doing to transform our courses so that you're ready for the future.

At the University of Roehampton, London, we are focused on constantly improving how we teach and support our students. All our courses are:

  • Designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to succeed
  • Developed in partnership with employers and industry, so what you learn is based on the latest concepts and expertise
  • Linked to our own world leading research, taught by colleagues who are at the forefront of shaping knowledge in their fields
  • Created with student achievement at their core, with in-course study support and wider services designed to support your wellbeing and career development.

We are now enhancing all our courses further, to ensure they are even better, in a project we call SAIL.

What does this mean for me?

Whatever course you join you can be confident it is designed to support you to succeed in your chosen career. Through SAIL, we will be making some wider changes to enhance all our courses over the next few years, with new modules and updated content, to ensure you receive an outstanding experience and are prepared to succeed.

You may spot 'Course subject to curriculum enhancement and revalidation' on course pages on our website, or in communications you receive form us, if you have already applied. This means that we are reviewing the course to make improvements ahead of you starting with us.

These changes will mean that:

  • What you study will be more in-depth, giving you deeper knowledge
  • The modules you will study will be even more effectively aligned to the world of work
  • We'll increase contact time within modules, so that you spend more time with teaching staff and benefit from support
  • Your assessments will be better spread throughout each semester so you don’t have multiple deadlines at once
  • Your teaching timetable will allow you to better manage your time, to allow you to balance your personal or work commitments.

When will the change happen?

We will be changing our courses in two phases, with some moving to the new structure in 2025 and the rest from September 2026. As soon as we finalise our plans, we will update our website with the new information.

If you already applied to us, and your course is being updated, we will contact you.

What will my timetable look like?

We’ll confirm your timetable as soon as it is ready, so that you can plan ahead. Most programmes will be taught across no more than 3 days for your first year of study, giving you maximum contact time with your lecturers, plus time for other commitments So, if you want to have more focused personal study time, a part-time job, need to balance family commitments, or want to reduce the time you spend commuting, we’re the ideal choice for you.

Who can I speak to for more information?

Ask us at our next Open Day or get in touch now. We’ll also keep updating this web page and will contact you directly if any changes to your course happen.
