Our world-class Library offers state-of-the-art resources and friendly, dedicated staff ready to support students.
Opened in September 2017, our library houses hundreds of thousands of books, over 1,000 seats, bookable private study rooms, a whole floor for silent study, and dedicated spaces for postgraduate and research students.
The Library also provides access to a vast range of online resources, including thousands of e-books, journals, and databases, available anytime, anywhere.
We offer high-speed Wi-Fi throughout and contactless borrowing to make checking out books as easy as possible. It is also home to the Walsingham Garden Room and Café.
Our students also have access to the Learning Skills Hub, which offers advice on using library resources, academic writing, referencing, and understanding feedback on their work.
To view our current opening hours, please visit our Library homepage for the most up-to-date information.
If you are an external visitor, please visit our ‘Visiting the Library’ page for more details on accessing the Library. Please note that we are currently prioritising study space for Roehampton students and staff.
The Library is also home to the University's Archives and Special Collections, which consists of rare books, original documents and artefacts to support various teaching and research areas.
The collections include the areas of early childhood education, children's literature, dance and religious studies. This includes the Froebel Archive, the Richmal Crompton Collection and Ann Hutchinson Guest Collection. The Archives and Special Collections are open for use to all students, staff and external visitors.
