Jemma Jessup

"I was honoured to be nominated for a Roehampton Futures award by my lecturer, Dr Sue Reeves, and winning my category of Employability, Placements, Internships and Work Experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed the past three years at Roehampton. Being part of a relatively small university suited my studies as a mature student perfectly. I was able to engage in numerous opportunities, departments, and experiences across my studies, all of which contributed to my CV and recent job offer. This recognition of my efforts outside my degree has affirmed my commitment and passion for working in the nutrition sector, particularly in supporting children's school food initiatives and my contributions as a nutrition volunteer for my local Trussell Trust Food Bank. Thank you to the careers department for their support and encouragement. I look forward to what else is to come!"

George Clayton

"Receiving the Entrepreneurship Award as a psychology student is significant because it highlights the work I’ve done beyond my academic studies. I reestablished student radio at the University, providing another platform for student voices and creative expression on campus and beyond. My work in establishing a university jazz function-band (if you’ve attended a formal event or Christmas dinner at Roehampton over the past few years, you’ve likely seen the Scott Gordon Trio!) and developing events for students with Southlands College, such as virtual flying lessons as part of the gaming festival, were all acts of intrapreneurship."

Mugdha Shivapurkar

"Receiving the Internationalisation Award is truly an honor and a reflection of the meaningful experiences I've had at Roehampton. My time here has been incredibly enriching, marked by the kindness and support of the people I've met, including peers, colleagues and tutors. As a Student Life Specialist for Nest, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to student engagement and providing emotional support, and as a student, I have been able to enhance internationalisation through dance workshops and cultural events. Roehampton has been a nurturing environment, offering countless opportunities for personal and professional growth. My most supportive and excellent tutors have played a significant role in fostering my confidence and development. I’m deeply grateful for the experiences and connections I’ve made here."

"I am absolutely thrilled to have received the Mentoring Award. Being part of Roehampton’s Autism Association and serving as a Student Ambassador have allowed me to grow in confidence and to meet and befriend so many wonderful people. I am glad that my contributions to these groups have been meaningful, as they have made a significant impact on me. My time at Roehampton has been great. I have learned a lot about myself, particularly in terms of how I work, who I am as an individual, and my life and career aspirations. Although my career plans have changed since I started university, I have gained many transferable skills that can be utilised in any career, for which I am extremely grateful."

Annabel Hann

"I was delighted to receive the Roehampton Futures Award for Leadership and felt it was a brilliant way to end my time at University. Throughout my four years at Roehampton, I made some brilliant friends and connections that helped me progress not only with my academic studies but in my career, too. I had many great opportunities to develop my skills and experience, including creating a brand-new nutrition society where I ran events to support other students interested in learning about health and nutrition. I received a lot of support from my lecturers at Roehampton and would like to say a big thank you to them all for their endless hard work and encouragement."
