Centre for Sustainability and Responsible Management

The Centre for Sustainability and Responsible Management produces high quality research outputs that are beneficial for a wide range of stakeholders, including local and central governments, businesses and charitable organisations.

Purpose

In addition to publishing papers in internationally renowned academic journals, members of the centre have written blogs, reports and articles for professional bodies.

They have recently attracted research funding from the Big Voucher Scheme, British Academy of Management, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Economic and Social Research Council, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Leverhulme Trust, Newton Fund, Office for Manpower Economics and the Science and Technology Facility Council.  

The Centre adopts an interdisciplinary approach to focus on research and knowledge exchange in relation to issues in sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.

It employs a responsible management approach given its increased importance academically and in wider society especially as a consequence of threats posed by climate change and COVID-19. It builds on existing research strengths in sustainability and responsible management. 

Research expertise within the centre includes sustainable and ethical finance, integrated reporting, ethical consumerism, the green economy, sustainable tourism, the circular economy and workplace diversity and equality.

Article in The Guardian about the ‘Between the White Lines’ initiative that refers to the collaboration with Roehampton Business School and the CSRM, via Bari Malik.

The training camp to provide released players from soccer academies with a second chance was held at the university and followed an event that was organised by Bari Malik in July 2023.

The purpose of this knowledge exchange event was to disseminate publication on tax evasion and corruption and discuss them with top-level experts and relevant stakeholders.

Dr Donato Vozza co-organised an online event on “Compliance, Avoidance, and Evasion in Taxation: The Role of Professionals - The Bright Area”.

This roundtable event explored the key role played by professionals in the area of tax compliance with a special emphasis on ethical approaches and adherence to the rule of law.

The University of Roehampton and London Wetland Centre join forces on environmental and sustainability issues through student placements and research

The University of Roehampton has joined forces with London Wetland Centre (LWC) to provide new opportunities for student work placements and research and project collaborations under their shared commitment to the environment and sustainability.

The partnership was launched at an event on Friday, 20 May at LWC in Barnes and will last for five years. Read more.
