Living in halls is a great way to make friends and manage costs. And our halls offer some of the most affordable student accommodation in London. Located at the heart of campus, everything you need is right here on your doorstep.
If you make Roehampton your firm choice on your UCAS form, satisfy the eligibility criteria and meet the deadline, we promise you’ll have on-campus accommodation. We also offer risk-free booking so if you don’t get the grades or receive your visa, we’ll release you from any agreement.

Whatever you study, Roehampton offers you state-of-the-art facilities, designed to reflect current industry practices and demands.
You’ll find warm and inclusive places to eat, drink and relax all over our campus. Enjoy events from club nights and live music to weekly markets. And in the Hive Café, meet the Growhampton team selling local, ethical and environmentally-friendly produce – including some that’s grown right here on campus. You can even get involved yourself.
Whether you’re living on campus or commuting, you’ll be welcomed into one of our four historic colleges: Digby Stuart, Frobell, Southlands and Whitelands.
Each is a friendly, inclusive community, where you can join social events and sports teams, access personal and academic support, and feel at home with facilities like the College Kitchens.
However you travel, it’s easy to get here – and we do our best to help.
Cyclists will find secure storage, showers and lockers, as well as Lime bikes for rent across the campus.
We run a free bus service between Roehampton, Barnes and Wimbledon, alongside several Transport for London (TfL) services that stop right outside our door.
If you’re driving yourself, there’s free on-campus parking for students – something we’re one of the only London universities to offer.

Whether you’re a fitness fanatic or a seasoned spectator, Sport Roehampton offers over 40 different clubs and activities including football, tennis, squash, rugby and hockey.
In our purpose-built gym, you can find all the latest equipment and classes from dance fitness and strengthening to cardio and HIIT workouts.
You’ll have access to our sports hall, studio and outdoor multi-use courts. And through our clubs, you can also train at top-level sport venues including the National Tennis Centre and Rosslyn Park RFC.
Whatever you choose to study, you can relax in our world-class Esports Arena after lectures, compete in national tournaments, or learn how to create content, from live streams to YouTube and Twitch videos. And if gaming’s your thing, you can apply for the UK’s first Esports Scholarship (worth £2,000) at Roehampton.
Roehampton Students’ Union (RSU) exists to support you and enrich your experience with us.
You’ll automatically become a member when you join the University. This gives you access to societies and communities, academic advice, and a huge range of events – including the annual Summer Ball.
Your membership also means you’ll be eligible to run for election yourself and join the committee who represent students across the University.
Living independently is an exciting step. But to get the most out of it, you need to budget. We’ve put together this guide to help you understand the costs.
The Union Bar uses the Breaz app to offer a loyalty scheme. When you buy a meal or drink, you’ll earn loyalty points which you can then spend at the bar.
The Hive Café also offer a loyalty card. Buy a coffee with your own mug to receive a stamp – collect nine, and you’ll get one free.
This varies depending on how often you travel and which modes of transport you take. The Hopper fare in London allows you to make unlimited bus or tram journeys in one hour for £1.65 pay as you go. As a student, you can also save 30% on travel cards and bus and tram passes with the 18+ Student Oyster photocard.
Rent ranges from approximately £139-£220 per week on campus.
Our campus gym membership is £120 a year if you sign up during Freshers Week. After that, it’s £165.
This varies from course to course. On average, students spend £17 per month on course materials*, but using the library services can considerably reduce costs.

We’re located near plenty of shops, bars and entertainment. We also have lots of free social spaces and activities on campus.
