Over 25 employers from the digital, engineering and built environment sectors and students from the United Colleges Group, Orbital South Colleges Group and Croydon College came to campus to take part in our Dragons’ Den/Apprentice event.

The dynamic day was a fantastic opportunity for students to collaborate with peers, and shape and pitch their ideas to employers. Students developed work-ready skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership as well as having fun! Employers gave constructive feedback on their ideas, how to work together and their presentation skills.

The event, the first of many to come, is a great way for the university to introduce further education students to apprenticeships, as well as engaging with employers.

Julie Halford, Senior Project Leader for apprenticeships and business development at Roehampton says: “The event was a huge success, it was great to see so many employers and future students on campus engaging in our fast-paced event. The feedback has been excellent; I’m excited for the next one!

"If you’re a college, school or employer and would like to be involved in our next event, on 7 May, focusing on the health sector, I’d love to hear from you. Contact me at julie.halford@roehampton.ac.uk"
