New Head of Roehampton Law School and Deputy Dean of Faculty

The University of Roehampton is thrilled to confirm that Miceál Barden has been appointed as Head of Roehampton Law School and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law.

Miceál will start at Roehampton in July.

Miceál has extensive experience of leadership and strategic portfolio development within legal education. Currently Dean and CEO of the Institute of Law in Jersey, Miceál was previously Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Business, and Social Sciences at the University of Wolverhampton and before that spent seven years as Head of Manchester Law School at Manchester Metropolitan University. 

Earlier in his career, Miceál worked as a researcher with the Human Rights Commission in Northern Ireland and the Law Commission for England and Wales. 

Miceál says: “I am delighted to have been appointed as Head of the Law School at Roehampton and I am really looking forward to meeting all the students and staff when I begin the role. The values of the University and the Law School are very closely aligned with my own and I can’t wait to get started.”
