On Thursday 10 July Roehampton LLB Law students attended an Insights Day hosted by Moore Barlow at their Richmond office.
The afternoon was led by Consultant Solicitor Amandeep Khasriya who specialises in Major Trauma. Amandeep shared her successful journey into the legal profession and her path to partnership, encouraging students to reflect on their goals with the question “what does success look like to you?”
Students also heard from trainee solicitors Hannah Gravenor-Grassby, Tamia Varghese and Antonia Elson. Each detailed their various routes into law, offering our students practical advice on applications and standing out in the recruitment process.
Debbie Moors, Emerging Talent Manager, delivered a session on legal career opportunities, the assessment methods used by law firms, and how to apply for vacation schemes and training contracts.
This was followed by an interactive workshop giving students the opportunity to reflect on their own skills, and how these align with typical interview questions. The exercise helped to demystify the interview process, allowing our students to think about their skills and how to present themselves outside of a formal interview setting.
A highlight of the day was hearing from senior partner Dr. Trevor Sterling, who holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Roehampton. He recounted his personal story and journey into law, empowering our students to believe nothing should stop from realising their ambitions. His message about self-belief and the opportunities awaiting our law graduates was inspiring, and our students left the session motivated and inspired for their future.
We are grateful to Sharon Hamilton and the entire Moore Barlow team for hosting such an engaging and thoughtful afternoon.
The University of Roehampton is proud to support the Be The Ladder Awards in October 2025, part of a foundation that celebrates social mobility and those who uplift others.
