The University Council is the governing body of the University, which carries responsibility for ensuring the effective strategic management of the University and for planning its future development. Phil Walker is Chair of Council. The University Secretary, Dr George Turner, is Secretary to the University Council.
The University Senate is the senior committee within the University responsible for academic standards and the regulation of academic matters. Senate is made up of senior academic and professional service leaders at the University, as well as elected staff and student members, and meets monthly during term time. The University Secretary is Secretary to the University Senate.
