Public transport
The University of Roehampton campus benefits from being at the heart of a busy network of transport links. Whether using 24-hour buses, the tube network at Hammersmith, Shepherd’s Bush and Putney, or through rail services from Barnes to Waterloo, all points across Central and West London are within easy reach of the university.
Approximately 21 buses an hour stop outside the main entrance of the University.
Plan your journey with Transport for London (TfL).
Train
The nearest station is Barnes - 8 trains per hour go to Putney, Clapham Junction, Vauxhall and London Waterloo. Check for live departures/arrivals at the national rail site.
Barnes station is 15 minutes’ walk from the University's main entrance, or you can take the Roehampton Shuttle bus 849, or buses 72 or 265 which stop outside all campuses. Approximately 15 buses per hour run between the station and the University.
If you’re visiting us for an Open Day, we will also be offering a free shuttle service from Barnes Station to the University's main entrance.
Bus
TfL buses 265, 419 and 493 stop directly outside campus, and buses K3, 85, 170 and 337 stop nearby.
Tube
We are a short bus ride away from tube connections at Hammersmith (Circle/Hammersmith & City/District/Piccadilly lines), Shepherd's Bush (Central) and Putney Bridge (District).
If coming from the direction of Hammersmith/Shepherd's Bush take bus 33 (from the south side of Hammersmith Bridge) to Barnes Station and change to bus 265. If coming from Putney Bridge take bus 265 to all campuses.
Car
During term time, parking on campus is limited, and we recommend you instead travel by public transport.
However, if you’re visiting campus on the weekend for an Open Day, you’ll be able to park on campus for free – we have approximately 250 spaces which will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Student Ambassadors will allocate you a parking permit upon arrival to the main entrance.
If you require accessible parking, please contact your event organiser who will be able to arrange this for you.
